LOGO DBWAVE ORIZZONTALE

A participatory approach was used to identify the official logo of DBWAVE

The project’s partners adopted a participative approach fostering youth agency for the selection of the project’s logo. VET students from the partner organizations were asked to express their graphic creativity.

The Logo should enable those who see it to understand clearly the connection with the network of the Salesians of Don Bosco; the Logo should also express somehow the concept of VET and be adequate for its use in formal initiatives involving the European Union’s institutions.

The logo contest was launched on September 16th, 2020 and the deadline for the submission was October 16th, 2020 at 3 pm. Each partner selected two logos among those realized by their VET students. Two logos per partner organization were then submitted to DBI. The final decision was made by DBI’s team, but partners were asked to express their orientation and preference.

The criteria for the evaluation of the submitted papers were:

  • Relevance – the capacity to be relevant to the history and characteristics of the European Don Bosco Technical and Vocational Centres.
  • Originality – ability to be exclusive without generating confusion and overlap with other brands.
  • Memorability – ability to be memorized both by structure and evocative power.
  • Adequacy – ability to represent DB WAVE project and its objectives.
  • Simplicity – the ability to reach out directly and effectively to the interlocutors.
  • Recognition – the ability to stand out and be immediately recognizable for what it represents.
  • Attractiveness – ability to attract attention even in dispersive and chaotic contexts, for example in the presence of different signals and other brands.
  • Ductility – ability to adapt, without losing the characteristics of recognition, to different chromatic and dimensional situations and both paper and electronic supports on which it may appear.

The Commission evaluated the works on October 28th, 2020 and notified the winner of the competition.

The winner is Davide Bovo from the graphic VET center of CNOS-FAP Mestre (Venezia, Italy).
