DBWAVE presented in the conference « Next Generation Edu – Education for the Future of Europe”
In view of the annual celebrations for the feast day of Don Bosco, one of the partner of the DBWAVE project, “Don Bosco International” (DBI), organized on January 29, 2021, an online conference entitled: “Next Generation Edu – Education for the Future of Europe”. Opening the meeting was the President of the European Parliament, David Maria Sassoli, and the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, with a speech entitled “The role of education in the present and future of Europe”. Over 300 people attended the online meeting.
Following the adoption of the “Next Generation EU” recovery plan and on the eve of the launch of the Conference on the “Future of Europe”, DBI involved its partners in order to take stock of the lessons learned from them alongside many young people, especially the most vulnerable, to raise awareness of the potential of quality and inclusive education.
Within the second panel of the conference, entitled «Education for the Future of Europe and Beyond», the DBWAVE project was presented by Tarcizio Morais SDB, Member of DBI and coordinator of Don Bosco Schools and VET (Vocational Education and Training) centers in Europe.
Together with DBWAVE, also the SAAM (Supporting Alliance for African Mobility) project was presented in the same panel. George Tharanyil SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco Tech Africa (DBTA), presented this pilot project for mobility between Europe and Africa through VET. Two full partners of DBWAVE, namely CNOS-FAP and Tech Don Bosco, are full partners of the SAAM project too. Furthermore, DBI is member of the SAAM project’s Steering Committee.
The event on 29 January was moderated by Renato Cursi, Executive Secretary of the DBI. The conclusions were drawn by the President of the DBI and Councilor for Youth Ministry, Fr Miguel Angel Garcia Morcuende, SDB.
